Where do we start with this place?? So many amazing snowboarding experiences and memories to choose from. We've visited Mammoth many times whilst living in the San Francisco Bay area and also more recently as on the back of a friend's wedding in Vegas. In fact I don't think we could pass through this part of the world during winter without paying a visit.

This is our favourite of all the snowboarding resorts that we've experienced so far in the world, and it would take something mighty special to try and knock it from the top. It epitomises everything that is great about Californian ski resorts.

Mammoth is situated on Interstate 395, east of Yosemite National Park. It's a bit of a pig to get to in winter, taking anything upto 10 hours driving from the Bay area. It's easier driving here from L.A.

The resort is a great size and can keep boarders very occupied for a week with good powder conditions, exploring all of the nooks and crannies. It has big pistes, great off-piste, powder dumps, tree runs, river gulleys, awesome Sierra Nevada views, multiple terrain parks (including an excellent learner park), brilliant grooming, a wide selection of bars and restaurants, high speed lifts, friendly local town centre, good food, top service .... the list just goes on, and on, and on! Mammoth, we love you.
