Our first taste of Utah snowboarding started at Snowbasin, and it was the perfect intro. I mean take a look at the banner pic, the weather was gorgeous, there was recent fresh powder and it is one of the poshest resorts we've ever been to.

Snowbasin hosted the 2002 Winter Olympics downhill event and a result it is very well kitted out. Entering the main lodge, I felt an urge to take my boots off and leave them at the front door for fear of spoiling the immaculate decor and furniture. The same was true on the slopes with modern lifts and attention to detail everywhere.

It's a pity we couldn't spend more time at this resort as there was a lot to like. The variety of terrain was good and virtually non-existent lift queues even at the weekend when we visited. Topping it all off, the apres-ski patio area with outdoor bar is a gorgeous setting with steep mountain face views and plenty of sunshine left in the sky to sink a brewsky and swap the day's tales of speed, heroics, crashes and more. Definitely recommended!
